The celebrity of athletes: How athletes are marketing themselves off the field

There are quite a few of athletes they do endorsement. The endorsement helps  athletes a lot. I think the endorsement are like a hustle for athletes, its basically like a backup plan. Athletes endorsement can have a great impact on product images. Most of the time the product the athletes are selling become successful. A lot people would buy products if they truly like the the athletes. My little brother loves Lebron James , he look up to him and every time we ride by pass a McDonalds: he'll say I want the same thing Lebron have.

Athletes are role models for children. Thats why athletes should be careful of what they do off the court, field, ring, etc. But athletes are only models for a specific role which is the sports(being athlete) Athletes are suppose to show children how to be sportsmanship and pursuit of excellence. Athletes have no choice but to be role model in the eyes of the public. The question is, Are the athletes good or bad role model? There are some good and bad role models. For example pro quarterback Michael Vick accused of dog fighting. A lot of people looked up to him, michael vick is a great player. After that incident with him, people start looking and talking down about him. Thats why Athletes have to be careful what they do outside of the Athlete Image. But overall Athletes are like everyone else, they are regular people who make mistakes. Is just that Athletes have responsibilities, its up to them to do the right thing.

Youtube killed the video star: How artists are making it today

         A lot of these muscial artists are making it because of you tube. Most of the consumer listens to artist songs on youtube before actually buying the cd, in which this can be bad because if the songs are horrible the consumers are not going to purchase the cd.
          Youtube is very big. Thanks to Youtube,people don't have to leave their homes and try out for anything. There are a lot of Artist using youtube to find talent. People are using youtube to be discorver and recognized. Usually people on youtube are by their self, rapping, singing and or dancing. there are some with their own band also.Youtube shows a varity of talent. Justin Bieber was discover by a famous artist Usher Raymond through Youtube. Usher was very successful with Bieber, a lot of people enjoying the boy singing. So i would say if it wasn't for youtube people wouldnt be recognized.
 
   The music business in particular has changed drastically over the last decade.  Most of that change can be directly attributed to the Internet. The appearance of free downloading music caused a tremendous uproar in the music business; it should be noted that not all the changes to the music business brought on by the Internet have been bad. But this do in some form affect CD buying.I think the decline on record revenue is due to the increment of Internet-based buying. But we need to take into account also the downloads from LimeWire, Torrents, etc. Which people get for free.People who download music for free don't buy CD's, since they already got them for free, and as a result they take from the industry, but don't put any money back in, destroying both the music industry and anything that relies on the music industry.

When watching The O'Reilly Factors on the Fox News channel, I discover that he is a conservative of liberal hatred. Bill O'Reilly is a negative person, nothing he say is positive. I don't like him because he discriminate against race, religion and possibly political party. I think he is an asshole. He don't put the spotlihjt on issue that need more media attentionPeople who go to his show are Pro- on his side. All his issues are biased- one sided. I think he is rude and disrespectful, he criticized the mainstream media. He's against Obama so he is con Obama. He disagree with everything Obama says or do. For example Bill totally disagree with Healthcare, he said, ""...government-run health care would be a disaster, featuring long waits for treatment and an enormous rise in taxation. But there should be government oversight on private insurance companies and strict guidelines about abusing customers. There can be compromise and effective government control of medical care abuse in the USA. It is possible. But if Michael Moore's plan ever gets traction, pray hard you never get sick." A lot of the things Bill speak about is more so his opinion.

When watching Nancy Grace, I found her approach to discussing the news was very interesting. I think she is a fighter, she fights for what she believe is right. Her show focus on violent crime, debates. I personally enjoys debates because it covers a lot of problems and most of the issues are overlooked. Nancy Grace is forceful, she make sure she get her point across. She is very passonate, she can be a little rude when interviewing people. One of the issue she talked about was Lawerence Taylor raped an underage girl. Nancy was outrage, she was upset that the girl didnt have a right to say anything. Remember the newspaper? take a closer look

Like seriously, who reads newspaper. I most certainly don't. I personally don't like to read them because whatever is metioned in it I'm sure I can see it or catch it somewhere else; like on the news. I feel as though in this society now Newspaper is a waste. I Have a friend that purchase the newspaper because of the coupons. In the Baltimore Sun it provides coverage of local and reginal news, events, issues, etc. In each sections of the newspaper there is a particular audience  its targeting. For example Sports sections will be for the guys. Majority of the iformation provider is bias in the newspaper. I remember The Sun paper used to be $.50 now its a $1.00. I don't think newspaper will survive in this society anymore because there is other media that is taking its spot. People use the internet for their primary source of news and informations.

 My favorite section in the newspaper was the comics. I remember sitting at a table eating a bowl of cereal reading the funnies. Now if I see a newspaper I would probably only read the horescope section(entertainment). The writings in the newspaper seems to be very dry and boring. Its filled with a lot of ads. It changed a lot, newspaper isnt the same anymore. People do not staple the newspaper to their daily life anymore. Watching the news on tv or on the internet is very convience. Online news is less bias because you have so many more view pointsin reporting. I think the internet is a wonderful source for news. The internet has made it so easy that you can read more than you can buy.

Evaluate Magazines

While in line at a grocery store, I see myself staring at these magazines, wondering why everything have to be airbrushed. People should be natural. I feel as though these magazines are sending a negative message to our audience and I feel as though its not right and it should be limits to what to expose.

     In this one magazine, there was this young lady who had on a short skirt with coupons attached to it with big boobs busting out the shirt. In every magazines they are targeting a particular crowd. In this case this magazine was targeting the males. These images are not realistic, they are negative. The message to the female is that you have to look like this to be acceptable or acknowledge in this society. I think these magazines make it hard for men and women to be theirself because they are worrying about trying to impress the other. Most of the magazines are sex sell magazines and it most definitely do. A lot of guys are presented as this big muscular person, and most of the time they are advertise as working men, with nice care and great jobs. A lot of females are presented as housewives, secretary and caretaker. In some of the ads women are advertised as being sexy. I feel as though that these are stereotypes of what men and women do or should do. I do not look at magazines, I feel as though its all false. The reason why people purchase magazine because they find it fulfilling and interesting.
